Uses of Literature is an introduction to critical reading.  This course will improve your ability to read a variety of genres (fiction and non-fiction, poetry, high and popular literature), understand explicit and implicit meanings, and widen your vocabulary. The hope is that you remain a reader of challenging literature throughout your life, because it will improve your self-awareness, analytical skills and self-expression.
